You occasionally see these things in British and European TV shows, and it's always a surprise to see a Dunnydore in the background!

The Commodore is based as probably many of you know on the Opel V, one of the GM "World Cars".  By the time it had been modified sufficiently to suit Australian conditions and the Australian-built motors that were going to be installed in them, there wasn't a whole lot - apart from a family resemblance - left of the Opel V.

I rather suspect that this coupe, like 'grey imports' and indeed like the prototype 48-215, would look to all intents and purposes like its stablemates, until you tried to fit a Genuine spare part to it.

cheers

Well now I personally know what happens when you leave a Torana hatch alone in the same garage as the commodore!    ;)
Very interesting car, along the lines of the two door German opel sports coupe (Adeyer sportiff??) sold new on the universal platform on the later (VH I think?)
definately one for the commodore collector who thought they had everything!
and I agree, try to fit standard parts and see what happens!!   ??? >:( ???

Those rear quarters look very similar to one of those early 80s celicas

I think the worldwide link with car manufacturing just keeps on revolving around and around.
