121  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Re: window regulator fitting on: February 12, 2018, 12:14:18 AM
I agree, the manual is a bit brief here. When I do this job I usually remove that nut so the channel can be flexed in a bit. I lower the glass to the bottom of the door and then remove it from the channel. Once the glass is out of the channel then the channel can be flexed away from the regulator to make it easier to get it the regulator out.

Ken
i later noticed that it gets mentioned in the next chapter for removing the glass.
i should have read that first 😯

Cathy keeps asking if I'm all organized because we only have 6 weeks before we leave.
That means I only have 3 weeks to have the wagon ready before it goes on the truck

I should have drove it....   it would have given me an extra week to get ready  Cheesy

the toothy coggy bit got jammed somehow by this screw.

i took skin off my hand wrestling the bits through the opening
this is why i pay other people to do things.

i did eventually get it all apart
AND
i seem to have got it all back together

ps i posted this just to remember how to use tapatalk ready for my Nats Diary posts begin

price has jumped a bit since Qld trip in 2016

Might start thinking about going back to driving across for Vic in 2020.
The wagon still hasn't been to the Northern Territory yet, so we might go via Darwin
(just don't tell Cathy)

Can't wait till we host the Nats again
it's a lot cheaper (and a very short trip)

That sounds like a very sensible idea RET
now why didn't I think of that  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
and we have a couple of days in Canberra for day trips

Here's where we've been

and here's the empty gaps to be filled in NSW &ACT

134  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Nats entry payment query on: December 13, 2017, 11:06:17 PM
G'day David
I have just received an email with your name on it.
It says I've sent my payment to the wrong account and to send it to a different account.

It seems legit.
I must have printed an old version of the entry form with a different account number to your current one.
the current form on the website matches the email details.

I don't trust email stuff so I just want to double check on the details before I send my payment to anybody

Thanks guys
some great info that helps with our planning. This area is all new to us. and it probably helps others who are wondering which route to take.
Was looking at Woollyymalloo as end of day one as plane lands in Syd approx. 12.30pm. then I have to get the car at Villawood before cruising on our Nats drive. Or we take the 11.15pm Sun flight arriving Syd at 6.30 Monday morning  Shocked Shocked Shocked
Then Woollymalloooo to Canberra is day 2 of the trip.
Just stopping for lunch on the way and a bit of sightseeing. Just wasn't sure on traffic and road conditions for timing (I don't trust Google maps )

Then if I don't do the Hume Hwy and I don't do this same route to get back to Sydney after the Nats which roads can I take (For more new lines on my map  Grin)
There doesn't seem to be many options. (No roads North of the Hume hwy ?)

Wagon is built for driving so big hills and road conditions are OK. We just did a 900mile round trip down through our Southwest which included a few (!!!) miles of gravel roads. (Denmark tourist people need to make their maps a bit clearer  Grin) NSW & ACT drivers seem to be just like West Aussie ones...some just don't understand the meaning of a solid double white line on the bends going over hills at twice the speed limit !

OK guys the trip planning has started.
Looking for some local knowledge

Doing the usual thing and not going in a straight line  Roll Eyes
We've done the Hume Hwy so I'm looking for an alternative route to put a new line on my map  Grin
and to make my Diary a bit more interesting  Smiley

Latest vague idea for a plan
Pick up car from CEVA in Villawood on Mon 26th
Drive down Princes Hwy
Stop overnight somewhere (Woollygong Huh)
Tues drive to Batemans Bay. Turn right onto Kings Hwy to Canberra
arrive at Nats HQ Tues arvo 27th

We're booking out of Nats HQ on Tues 3rd

Just need to figure out which direction to take. Have a couple of days up my sleeve before needing to drop the car back at CEVA
HuhHuhHuhHuh?

Whoops !
I knew I had forgotten something David  Cheesy

All entered and paid for now.
( I think ?  I did it on the computer and emailey thing so anything is possible  Roll Eyes)

Now to start the trip planning
To quote the Bandit
"we've got a long way to go and a short time to get there"
and we could add.. we've got a whole lot of spending and a very small budget   Cry

The Grand "Plan"
Put wagon on truck mid March
Fly out of Perth Mon 26th
Arrive Sydney lunchtime Tues 27th
Pick up wagon
Drive down Hume Hwy for 3 hours to Canberra
end of trip. This doesn't look like it's going to be a very exciting Nats Diary

surferboy  Cool Cool Cool & Cathy

PS I must be excited...  I've washed the wagon AGAIN  Shocked

139  General / General Board / Re: Lost Profile picture (Avatar thingy ?) on: November 14, 2017, 03:59:02 PM
my photobucket seems to be one of the few that still works.
I haven't used it much for a while. so it might only be those who use it a lot that photobucket want to get money off
I can still add photos to posts and THANKFULLY they haven't deleted all my Nats Diary pics
but I will look at using other posting options before they do change stuff

I'm sure I usually change my profile pic directly from my photo files after resizing the picture to really small
but it isn't working. I guess I'm doing something wrong

or it is one of those stupid computer things where it just doesn't want to play nicely

 Cool Cool Cool
PS. did I mention how much I hate computers !!!
140  General / General Board / Lost Profile picture (Avatar thingy ?) on: November 14, 2017, 12:29:24 AM
Bugger !
I know there is a way to change my profile pic because I've done it before
But I can't figure it out Huh
Have resized photo and tried adding as upload my own photo
and tried adding resized pic by copying from photobucket for  I have my own pic
went from 3672x4896 6.46MB
to                316 x 424  105KB (usual size when I add pics to forum posts)
to teeny tiny  48 x 65  34.8 KB
have logged out and back in and hit the refresh thing and turned computer off and on

but I'm still stuck with a little black   x
