1  Technical Board / Restoration Help / Re: NEW Wiring Diagram on: March 01, 2024, 11:39:57 AM
It's amazing the little mistakes you find when you look really close.

Now I've been using these wiring schematics since the late 60s & yet I just found another mistake in the FB drawings. On the FB 215, 219, 225, 229 diagram they list 2 versions of the dome light wiring, one for FB/217 & one for all others.

Given that the 217 model was discontinued mid FC, the FB/217 never existed as a production model. Looks like they forgot to tell the electrical drawing room this info & they went ahead & drew a diagram for that model's dome light. If we end up re-drawing the FB & EK diagrams we should delete that bit.

Dr Terry

I only noticed this myself a couple of weeks back when doing a standard to special upgrade on my FB215  Shocked

Thanks for the update Mal , always enjoy your posts and marvelling at your craftsmanship.

I have a set of manual quarter window cranks for the 2 door EK I have been building since forever but making your own powered units from scratch is next level and then some  Shocked Shocked

Richard at Billetworks does excellent work , he is now looking at gearing up to make interior door handle mechanisms , i said best to just make the springs so you could replace the spring in your existing mechanism but I think he is making the whole thing.

Unfortunately I don't have any good ones here Rob, its a shame you didn't need them a couple of months ago , i am certain there was a pair on the EK that sat upside down in the bush for many years, the bulk of all the normally rusty stuff on that ended up in Canberra for Brett's ute project, but being a ute those bits wouldn't have been required and are now on their way to china .......  Sad

Rob,  are the jacking points left and right handed or symmetrical ? I have the next couple of days off so i will have a dig around in EKmart for a suitable replacement

Looks good - the car certainly had potential , and you have done a great job of cleaning it up.
17  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC Sedan Price Drop $4400 on: September 07, 2009, 12:32:38 PM
When did you buy it Gwen ? Just recently or a while ago ?  The car had potential , but it was a LONG way away from what he told me over the phone - there was rust in the inner sill that would have had to be repaired , seat belts missing , lights not working , the rear bumper was only attached by one bolt on each side , etc etc etc .  It was a good looking car but had been poorly reassembled after paint.
18  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC Sedan Price Drop $4400 on: August 31, 2009, 07:53:25 AM
No I didnt , it was supposed to be ready for rego - when I got to Canberra on the thursday before easter and went to pick up the car , it had oil leaks, none of the lights worked , it was running like a dog , seat belts missing , etc so I gave it a miss.
