Title: Shifter Linkage Bushes
Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on October 01, 2010, 11:06:12 PM
I will be piecing together a Speco Shifter and modified linkages for an Aussie 4 speed soon, just wanted to find out if anyone knows where I can get new bushes for the linkages as the ones I have are worn  :'(

Stinky,

Go out in the mulga.  Plenty of 'new' bushes there.   :D

Hi Stinky,

What bushes are you after? Is it the the bushes in the centre of the shift, ie the gear lever pivot bushes? If you are happy enough to send me your shifter, I have access to a lathe, perhaps I can turn you some up if you can't find some replacement bushes.

I am trying to use a Speco Twin-Stick shifter, unlike the factory shifters that have the pins to attach to the linkages this shifter has holes that require a bush 12mm OD/9.5mm ID then I need some 9.5mm pins with a 15mm(approx) shank. The pins aren't so hard, it's the bushes I really need to source. The only bush that came with the shifter is plastic, I just need 2 more.

Stinky, have you tried a long-time Speco supplier on the off chance they can help?  Is it Motor Traders in South Aus?
