61  Galleries / Project Cars - FEs and FCs Under Construction / Re: FC Sedan 2008 Barn Find - FNQ on: July 03, 2010, 06:06:28 PM
Well its been a long time since i posted any update on here.

Thats because there has not been a great deal to post about of late.

The bride has gone back to chefing which means she now works weekends and has Monday Tuesdays off and as a result I am left to babysit the rugrats, (although I dont think you can call it babysitting if they're your own ..................... thats just called parenting)

On top of that I have been putting it back together so it is mobile again as a move interstate is on the cards before the year is out.

I have however stripped with a wirewheel the inner and outer of the bootlid and primed (due to the humidity if you leave it any more than two days brown surface rust appears on my nice shiney silver panels.

Im not to keen on stripping anymore panels before we decide if/when we shift, but Im sure as I cant just leave it, it will get the better of me and the doors will be next.

63  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: V6 conversions are people happy with theirs/feedback. on: May 16, 2010, 08:17:18 PM
In The process of doing a V6 Ecotech mod nowinto my FC Sedan.  Still A Long way to go and this is my first attempt at any such project.  Check out my oldholden shed to see pics and latest updates.

Lots of work and lots of trial and error so far but plan is to have the FC as a daily driver also.

The only thing to consider for the conversion is some states have power to weight issues which have recently come into effect.  Might be worth looking into before you commit to a decision.

What an amzing read.

I know what passion you must have for this car.

I, for the last 8 years have been trying to find my grandfathers Monza Blue with a White Roof HT Premier with the intension of restoring it and handing it to my dad, as it was the family car as he grew up, seeing as my grand-dad has passed away.  I know it was last registered to someone in Kalangadoo, Sth Australia and can only hope its still there in a shed covered in dust waiting for me.  Its a long shot but its all I've got. Plus the fact I now live in Cairns, some 4500 kms away.

I dont even own the car im looking for (Really giving up hope of finding it - probably gone to the big graveyard in the sky), but still I am passionate about wanting it a restoring it.

Your story is a great read, amazing inspiration and a credit to the effort you have put in to get it to where it is today.

As for the two blokes stranded on the side of the road with Generator problems ... Yes they seem like "top blokes" but first impressions can be deceiving.  Tongue     (Sorry Paul could not help myself)  Roll Eyes

I hope you have many wonderful memories with the car in years to come.

I think its a great idea as it give those who were unable to attend an appreciation of the cars which were caegory winners. One good photo can still make a bad car look amazing so this could give everyone an idea of the standouts amongst the entrants.

Post them up peoples ...................  Wink

Well a week out from the Nationals, jelousy and envy have settled in with the fact I cant make the event.

Always knew I was not going to get there to experience the event since joining the FE/FC army but still did not stop me from wanting to go.

To all those managing to attend .......................... BASTARDS!!!! Tongue  ............... travel safe and with luck on my side I'll be able to put names and faces together  in WA in 2012.

Looking great Glenn.  Last saw it before it left Cairns and the refreshed paintjob has given a new lease on life to an already well finished car.  In the last 6 months the vans come a long way to get to Orange this weekend so most of all enjoy it.

75  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: Countdown to Orange on: March 25, 2010, 11:34:02 AM
It's interesting to see the quality of the pictures.  I forgot just how more vibrant colours are with modern digital cameras.  The colour may have lost some of the punch when they were scanned but speaking of camera's hows the video camera on that poor blokes shoulder.  I get pi$$ed of having to carry my little one around at car shows, let alone one the size of the FC Fuel Tank.

None the less stll very interesting to look at all the so called fashion. lol.   I will probably looking back in 20 years laughing at what Im wearing now.  Tongue

If the parts are ready on time then pls advise me of this guys contact details.

Had my Prem seats dropped of with a expected completion date of 3 weeks.  5 months later they were done.  Angry

Not an uncommon scenario from auto repolsterers apparently.

Hope this one is true to his word and everything falls into place for you.

Paul.

One bottle of Mount Frankin Spring Water per car will be issued upon registration and it is up to the entrant on how he/she whises to utilise it.  Any additional water used may cause the entrant to be excluded from this and any future nationals. Grin Grin Grin
