Hey
I need to get my hands on a 149 as this is the biggest motor i can put in without an engineers cert. and  mod's.
Could anyone suggest as how to go about finding one in Sydney?
Thanks

Vinnie,

There was one on eBay recently but I had a look and the auction in now ended.

Why don't you try contacting one of the EH clubs? I'm pretty certain that's the only model they were used in so its probably a good start.

Cheers,

Craig.

149 Engines were used in both the EH and HD Holdens so there should still be a few around. There was also a 138 Cu Inch red motor fitted to early LC Toranas which would have to be ok as well (it was called a 2250 in the Torana and there were quite a few sold).

Thanks
Rang around and found out that the 149 is more rare than the 138 as most people tend to put 186 and 202 etc now and throw the 149 out. After talking with numerous people it would probably best to put the later motor as parts for them are still readily available.
Something to think about.

138 red is a slug of a motor, generally.  If you can find a 149 it's a better choice.

cheers

hey all,
gotta make room for the new engine which means i have 3 to get rid of. there is
a 132, 138 and a 149. the 138 is in running condition as it was in my car
before i was forced to take it off the road. if anyone wants these they can take
them for a price of $0. the only catch is you have to pick them up.

grubbmuzz@yahoo.com.au

Might be worth dropping him a line, or see the site for the full ad, price is right!!!
