Don't know if any Victorians have had a chance to see the Myer windows this year, certainly the non-Victorians probably haven't.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Myer windows display and the theme was Melbourne in 1956

There is a man proudly cleaning his brand new red and white FE sedan.
There is a is a two tone blue FE sedan parked behind an FJ.
And there is another red and white FE passing a tram.
We went in this morning (no crowds) and it was brilliant. The story was "little dog and the Christmas wish" which is set in the 1950's

That's terrific Ken.
I've only ever seen one of the Myer window displays since they started in Melbourne.
Did they have anything in the displays recalling the '56 Olympics?

No nothing about the Olympics, it was more daily Melbourne life, the window looking at Flinders St station was incredible with a tiny copy of a 1956 Sun newspaper being read by one man while a nearby news stand had tiny copies of 1956 Time, Vogue etc.

It sounds a long way ahead of what they do here.

We had the same display up here at the Queen St. Myer in Brisbane, was very cool to see.
