Title: FATBOYS GOT A FC WAGON
Post by: FATBOY on August 25, 2009, 08:02:45 PM
Finally i have sourced a wagon came from bundberg queensland still not in my hands yet its sitting in minifc's shed. Its grey powered god forbid .Dont worry restorers wont be lasting long in that disguise.Plans are for 179hp motor (XU1 spec)t700 auto 3.55lsd (HR) hr front end hq stubs Will be running twin gas carbies and be dedicated to gas only.Ps tanks not for sale have to many projects that it can go into.Might even put the grey gear into the fe219 wagon ive got.Thinking of painting the bottom half olinda green and leaving the top white.Stock rims or ive got a set of weld minilites the ones with eight holes.Photos to come when mini sends them to me or youll have to wait till friday.

Just got home from my mates workshop in Mitchell ACT .Had a great night hooked up a battery and dodgied up a fuel supply checked oil poured some water into the radiator then i heard a running noise previous owner had taken the drain plug out of the motor .So i drove around the corner and got one from the stevens boys .Plug in and cranked the motor over on the starter and the mighty grey started and ran smoothly. Then i started on the brakes looks like ill put new cylinders in it just to be safe .What price are they just so i can reference them in canberra . Feed the clutch pedal up then manually put it into gear and then we couldnt get it out of the gear so i called it a night

regards fatboy

Title: Re: FATBOYS GOT A FC WAGON
Post by: FC427 on February 07, 2010, 10:03:03 PM
T700 has the shift on the passenger side so looks like a cable will be the easiest method  otherwise it will be a mechanical cross over linkage under the gear box  which is heaps more work to make and calibrate  ......FC427......

Didn't think it would stay stock for long!  :D

We've used an Ididit cable set up and made custom mounting brackets.  We bought ours from Summit for US$80 - but - we usually buy a few things at once to make the freight costs worthwhile.

Hey! Who says he's my better half?  ???  :D

John's always happy to chat about things like that. While the kit and methodology for your application is different to ours some of the issues were the same and having someone to help steer you in the right direction can really help - and while cyberspace is great, nothing beats a good talk.

Now don't play with yours as much as John has with his!  ::) ;) It is a good feeling though!  ;D

Fatboy,

Good to see that you are able to get a decent shed and a decent place to store all your cars, I too have the problem of having to be able to put the wife's car back in the shed everytime that I have finished working on my car, which ultimately means and hour to unpack everything around the car, work on it and then an hour to pack everything away.

I would kill for a shed big enough to not have to do that, good luck to you, hope that you are able to get it up quickly and keep on getting into it.

Will be taking it to the Crakk run this weekend in canberra A Few little thins to finish and sought out was good taking it for a drive this afternoon .Weve got it changing good in the t700 .Just need to work out what gears are in the rear as ive got a 3.55 lsd to go in it.We think its got 3.08 or 2.78.but will get this weekend out of the way then put the new gears in.Its great to have room to move around the car.Only bummer at the moment is ive got to run power through a generator (noisy). The power to the block is 75metres.So will be saving up for that one
