Hi,
Do any of the guru's know what sort of timber was used in the tray of the FE-FC Utes & Vans? I thought it was probably painted marine ply. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Graham

I have a original ute and from the underside, it appears to just be standard ply - painted on top and raw on the bottom. It was very well sealed around the edges with black sealant.

When we reproduced ours, we used a thick marine ply substrate with a masonite facing sheet, which was then finished with clear epoxy for durability/ease of cleaning. The steel runners then went over the masonite.

I replaced mine with standard ply and if I was going to do it again, I would use marine ply (because it does get wet in mine). Cheers.
