Hello everyone
We have a number of enquiries re the Nasco Social Club concept. Due to alcohol restrictions we had to negotiate quite hard to get permission to be able to have it reversed from a alcohol free site. Upon doing so we then had to apply as a club for our own liquor license for the Easter weekend. This license which was granted has with it the usual restrictions that we will have to abide whilst on site. These include a restricted area which will include the Nasco social club dining areas and the function room unfortunately it does not apply to your rooms hence the hard work and promo of the social club concept. It also stipulates no glass so all alcohol will be in cans or glasses no stubbies!!!
A rough list is as follows of what we will have available
Carlton Draught
Vic bitter
Melborne bitter
Carlton light
Mid strength
RTDS
Scotch and coke
Bourbon and coke
Ass UDLS,vodkas and gins
Southern comfort and coke
Scotch and dry
Black smirnoff
Bundy Rum
Wild Turkey
Jack Daniels
JIM beam
And so on
Also a full selection of the Nationals Labelled 2006 50th Ann Wines in Chardonay,shiraz,Champagne and Muscat by the glass or the bottle{dining room only}
And of course lots of soft drink and water!
The prices are VERY GOOD!!!!
We look forward to a fantastic time and sharing with you all a great Nationals week end.
See you all soon and to those that will not be there look forward to some cameo shots straight from the NASCO social rooms.
Cheers
Brett Gillard

Carlton, Carlton, Carlton, Carlton and Carlton.  What's up with that?  They must be running double-shifts at CUB to get the cats to squat over that many cans...

Still, when in Rome and all that.  I'm sure we'll get used to it after 4 days intensive training.

cheers

Dunno about that.  That Carlton Draught ought to be put back in the horse.  Don't buy any of that on my account.

Still, as a knowledgeable friend of mine often says: "beer is beer (except for Reschs, which is unadulterated donkey's urine)".

36 hours from now and I'll be heading off to the Island...

cheers

Yeah OK you lot...sorry to be a pooty parper...Coopers is great and yes a ute with a keg in the back would look grouse, but you can't bring it to the CYC!

We have been told that outlets on the Island will get a walk through Liquor Licencing Victoria over the long weekend.  The Vic Club will get fined, hung drawn and quartered, and all sorts of other nasty things by the 'authorities' if we break out license conditions, and it was hard enough to get the Liquor License we got.

Please respect the hard work the Committee has put in to make the best variety of grog available under very difficult circumstances (it's not everyday that you have to plan for 350 people coming to a Nats when you weren't expecting quite so many!).

So sit back and enjoy the ambience and camaraderie of the Nasco Social Club, and please don't bring grog in to the CYC...

Otherwise, we'll get Neville to sit on you.
