Picked up this little gem the other day as an "unfinished project".

Upon casual inspection, it looked a little rough, parts were strewn everywhere and it looked like a lot of hard work.

However after a little bit of elbow grease, it came up a treat. In fact, 95% of the paint is amazing, with only a few touch ups and a minor repair required to a sill.

The car has a CRS chassis kit fitted including the subframe strengthening, a CRS front end with rack and pinion steering, CRS dropped stub axles, a CRS modified Ford 9" LSD rear end with Holden axle tubes and axles, four wheel disc brakes with new master cylinder/booster, Koni shocks, Selby sway bars, and 15" Hotwires.

In addition, it came with a reconditioned 305 Chev, a reconditioned TH350 Auto, unopened VDO gauges, new rubbers throughout including bailey channels, new 1/4 vent windows, rechromed bumpers and door handles etc etc.

I couldn't believe my luck!

Until I read the firewall plate.......

Aaaaaaagh..... It's an FE!

With a significant amount of help, the reassembly has already begun, starting at the back and working forward. (Gives me a chance to prepare myself for whether I'll run an FE or FC front  Grin)

Looks like the decision has already been made though. Especially when those NOS badges look soooo good, and it would be a real shame to start welding up trim holes in the bootlid.

Still some concessions have to be made to finish the car properly. (FC strips below the tail lights Grin)

Rusty,

Seriously thought of it, however the paint is that good that it would just be a waste of money to start welding up holes for FE trim etc.

I don't know FEs that well, however I am perplexed by the fact that whoever was previously building/painting it:

a) Chose "Formula Blue"
b) Welded up most trim holes but kept the FE trim below the rear window and holes for a Special guard and door spear on one side only!
c) Drilled FE guards to fit FC indicator housings

Notwithstanding the above, I am erring towards an FE grille and indicators.

Also, I am in the process of procuring a NOS Detroit flash kit to fit to break up the blue, which is pretty full on.

Craig,

What's with the photo on the left hand side of the screen? You haven't been spending good money on glamour photography have you?

You certainly don't present that well in person  Grin

Welcome to the V8 FE/FC sub branch. Great to see its found a good home, so how many does that make now?
Now you can use that gearbox casing to help set it up, Is 305 a Tune port Injected engine or normal Carby?
Cheers

Yes Edward, I should have been spending money on glamour photography instead of expending elbow grease on an FE.  Kiss

It does look pretty nice though, even if it is 'too blue'.

Darcy is right, that does looks like Streetneat's old ute in the background of one of those pics. Why have you pulled the windows out of it? Confusing?

Cheers,

Craig.

Jezz they liked that blue, I bet you feel like painting it grey. It should be interesting fun at the future nostalgic drags.
