I can't find specs on combustion chamber volumes for std 186 and 202 heads?  I'm trying to work out what will be the best solution for lowering compression  for my turbo converion? can anyone help? I can get decompression plates or use different pistons but need these figures for my calculations....any help??

Hi 2door350.

The combustion chamber volume for all red motor 138/149/161/173 engines is 45.4 cc.

The combustion chamber volume for all 179/186/202 (except XU1) is 53.5 cc.

XU1s also use the small chamber 45.4 cc head.

Dr Terry.

I hope this guy is rite, the guy I have maching my stuff has recomended to me to use a thick copper head gasket with the block O ringed, acl race series dish top pistons with further machining and cc'd chambers.
he says this is what is needed to get the rite compression ratio for my little supercharger that wont go over 10 psi.
I dont really know if this is all necassary, especailly considering it will more than likely have water/methanol injection, maybe I shouldnt have stressed so much that I dont want it to ever ping.
