Craig...
I'm jealous mate... nice looking wagon!! Can't wait to see it in the flesh.
A 2-tone blue wagon is my dream car.... the main reason I fell in love with the FC was a sweet looking 2-tone blue FC Sedan I saw in a Street Machine mag back in about '85/'86, and I always wanted a wagon version. My ultimate car would be a 2-tone blue wagon, lowered, buckets and a thumping V8....!! Just dreamin' though...

Good luck with it!! Glad to see she ended up at a good home too BTW....! and keep those pics flowin'......
Cheers.....

Thanks for your comments Ace, Les.

I should have it ready for the Club run to Berrima in May - thats the goal anyway. It will be mechanically finished after this weekend, it will then just need some work to the drivers side sill, and some new tyres. It only needs a pink slip for rego so it should pass easily. It will then go on to Club Rego.

I might get my brother to give it a touch up here and there as well as the paint is a bit average in some areas.

And Ace, how about the Bloo Mobile  Grin Matches nicely with the Poo Mobile!

Cheers,

Craig.

here's a picture with the head off the engine. Unfortunately the engine is not the original - its an EJ engine but looks like it hasn't done a lot of work, very little in fact. Although it had a blown head gasket, the engine was very quiet in operation, no smoke, and doesn't seem to leak any oil. Has some markings which I think are from Gem engines.

I had to repaint the head as it was chemically cleaned, so this also meant the block has had to have a new coat of paint, that's why it looks so fresh in the photo.

The bores have very little wear, no lip, and the pistons weren't badly carboned up, I just gave them a wipe with a thinners rag and they came up shiny as per the photo.

Wagon is nearly completed mechanically - on the weekend the gearbox was replaced (thanks to John Rap for his help) and some other minor stuff repaired including a rear uni that was missing some of the roller bearing that explained the clunking noise in the rear end.

It now drives very well, quiet and smooth like a good original car should.

Rear brakes need a service, head a retension and readjustment of the tappets, and that should cover it.

More photos soon.

Cheers,

Craig.

WOOOOHHHOOOOOOO!!!

The wagon is REGISTERED  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

New crossplys fitted and then passed a pink slip today without any problems.

Here are some photos taken this afternoon. The paint isn't that fantastic but it now drives perfectly and everything works great - except a squeal from the water pump bearing which is to be expected when its been sitting so long.

Anyway, I'm one happy camper, and here are the photos.

Berrima run here I come!!!

Cheers,

Craig.

Craig,

Looks good. Shall I pack a spare water pump in the boot for next weekend?

Out of interest, where did you buy the crossplies? I'm after a set.

Regards

Thanks guys.

Edward,

I purchased the tyres from a local tyre place - CC Tyres  in Penrith. They are 6.40 x 13 Crossplys - cost $70.00 each. The guy had to get them in, but it only took a day.

Cheers,

Craig.
