I’m still here, albeit in a in a lesser capacity due to ill health of my wife. Haven’t had much time to work on the car over the last year, but still keep an eye on what’s going within the forum. The big thing with Facebook is the amount of armchair mechanics and builders that like to put down others hard work just because they don’t like the look or the finished job. While these guys are in the minority, most people are generally great and will help out just as the members here do. I t is always great to check up on how projects are progressing (or not in my case) and keep a lookout for anyone who needs a hand or parts.
Regards,
Jim

Easy to post photos. GET TAPATALK ON MOBILE DEVICE.

Apologies for the caps but I’m getting sick of saying how easy it is to post photos this way. Jab the camera icon, point, snap, select resolution, bingo.

Facebook is a hostile planet to me. Hence I’m always on here.
Cheers

Hi Waynos & Fcee , if you want to learn how to post photos, just shout out.

If you want info, do you use a mobile phone/Ipad/tablet to take your photos and can you download App's onto your device?   Or do you take photos with a camera & download them to a desktop computer or laptop (Windows or Mac) and can you download a image hosting site?

The method's a bit different, depending on the device you use.  I use both ways, though I find a mobile device and App is quicker & more convenient (you can post photos anytime you have your phone with you eg. sitting on the dunny or while you're working in the shed), but if that doesn't suit, you can use a computer.  I can do a step by step with pictures for either way if you want.

Hey Surferboy, I don't seem to get the Add image to post option on the computer - is that a privilege for Gurus, or am I partially blind?

Cheers, John

Resolution on photos you posted is not good surferboy, all three. Could be the originals I suppose. Here is one from my gallery, posted via Tapatalk.Resolution is 1008x756. This was sent to me via text. No fiddling with accounts or resizing. SIMPLES!

I use a free Imgur account, drag photos in and it gives me a compatible link to copy into my post.

Good one Vern. Doesn’t mind a bit of a chin wag.

Would you believe WD40 I’ve heard used with success on whitewalls.

I use a free Imgur account, drag photos in and it gives me a compatible link to copy into my post.

This is how I do it as well. Start with two browser windows open - one on the forum, one at imgur.

When you drag pics into imgur, one of the "share" options is a link suitable for bulletin boards and forums. Just copy and paste that into your forum post where you want the picture to appear. Use the "Preview" button before posting to check it's doing what you want. It will look like this:

Code:
[img]http://imgur.com/blah/blah/ab1cs7gh.jpg[/img]

PRO TIP: if it previews the picture at some ridiculous size, you just amend the img tag code you just pasted in as follows:

Code:
[img width=800]address of pic[/img]

note the " width=800" addition. That ensures the pic is scaled to 800 pixels wide.
