Hi everyone,

I am going to restore an FB Holden for a friend who had a massive stroke 3 years ago (only 47 at the time) and just found out that he actually reconditioned a 186 red engine prior to having the stroke. He will never be able to drive again but his wife wants to drive him around in it.

My question is, do l require an engineers certificate to do this conversion in Victoria? The car will be going on club plates. I believe that the grey gearbox will bolt up to the red motor and that l will require  an HR front end, is this correct?

Thanks for your time

David

I have an FC with 186 and HR front end. Yes it should be engineered. Will also need dual circuit brakes, seat belts, window washer, dual speed wiper, heated demister.
