Hi all,

what  sort of info does a chassis number give you ?     (number  85522A )

A for Adelaide ? can you decipher a year from this number ?

 have no ID plate on the fire wall.

Yes the 8 at the start signifies 1958. Your car is the 4522nd FC assembled at the Adelaide plant.
I can date more accurately by running it in my database.

No, chassis number simply counts the number of vehicles off the line. It could be a sedan, wagon, ute or van.
I have a number of ID plates if you need to match one up to your car.
