Got stuff back from the blasters, guess who needs a RHF guard now  Sad was waaayyy worse that I thought.. more bog than metal Shocked even the rust repairs have rusted out!

Moral of the story is perhaps be selective as to what bits are blasted next time cos sometimes even perfect looking guards are suitable just to lightly strip and ignore what's underneath. Especially a bolt on part. What I find good to use is a cheap variable speed polisher with 80 grit disc to strip them rather than blast. But perhaps just a light blast might be ok but you need to have a good blaster for that. I'm largely in the same boat 😏.
