Hi, I am after some advice on how much I could possibly sell my Holden FC for?
Here is some info and photos.

HOLDEN FC SPECIAL 1958.
Open to all serious offers.
This vehicle has had all major rust repaired (floor pans).
No rust in sub-frames, minor rust in doors & usual spots.
All panels straight & original.
Repainted in enamel 2 years ago.
Front seat repaired & reupholstered last year.
Full brake reline, new wheel & master cylinders 3 years ago.
Grey motor needs overhauling.  Gearbox OK.
Needs a set of rubbers throughout.
Rego ran out April 2012.  Was a weekend driver until then.
Some spares, original repair books & roof rack (not fitted).
A very good restorer.

Cheers,

Dave

Prob better putting a price on it mate if you want to sell it, rather than jumping on a forum with your only post.

Well, I had a look around Gumtree and all the car sales sites
I think I would be happy to sell it between $7 - 9k based on what I see now for sale.

cheers,

dave

No insult intended but i think 4 to 5 would pull it up.

It looks like a lucky dip fresh looking paint with oysters of rust around the boot, lower rear doors, and outer skin,

There is a very very similar one for sale in forster NSW and looks like the exact same car it has not gone over 3K on ebay.

people are scared of rust under fresh looking paint...

Put it on ebay starting at 99 cents with your prefered reserve and see how it goes is the easiest way...

I wouldn't consider it an insult. He asked what its worth for what we think. It's difficult as you don't want to upset people. I wouldn't jump on a forum as a first post looking for a quote. He would had to have bought it from somewhere and would have at least a ballpark idea.

Although there are EK's going for a million dollars (pinky in mouth DR Evil style)

Wow looks like my old girl Sad

I sold one just like that a few months back for around the 5K.

Great old cars should demand some respect, selling it for 3k puts it in a used hyundai excel class. Don't cave in to the pressure, 60 year old cars especially FC's deserve more even if they cost a bit to do them up. it will also keep them away from the scrap metal market that bit longer.

Good luck with the sale.

Cheers guys, not insulted at all, that's exactly what I am after.  Smiley

I bought it off a couple about 7 years ago, my dad and I stripped it down to bare metal, sanded all the rust out, filled in all the dings (not mush as the body was pretty straight when I bought it) and then painted spray painted it.
That was about 5 years ago so some minor rust has come through since then.

The car is in Melbourne near Chadstone if anyone has genuine interest and would like to have a look and make an offer.

Thanks for advice again, very helpful!
