Boot lock cylinder

Hi all , any ideas on how to install - how does that back plate hold the cylinder lock in place, tricky holding with your finger !

It helps to have a second pair of hands, you need to make sure the plate is in place first, then place the barrel&arm through the boot & the plate. Make sure the arm is located in the lock fully & then push the plate up over the tabs in the barrel. It can be a bit of a pain due to the lack of room but you just need to keep at it.

I reckon that bugger took me a whole day to get in, no xtra hands just me. Like most of those hard to do things there is a special tool, but it can be done without it, just takes a day  Dave

The trick is to do it before you put the boot lid on .

Or get a 360 degree swivel wrist would also help.

You thing you have the little bugger and you feel again and its not between the little grooves.

I used a couple of dabs of blu-tak to keep the sliding clip in place till i was ready for the arm twist manouver.

Thats not a bad idea, I'll pinch it when I put mine back together.

Thanks for all the replies , some sound suggestions--seems like I will loose plenty of skin trying to put it back. Curlslinc
