Brake Booster selection

I'm after some advice on selection of a brake booster.

I had a VH44 fitted to a drum brake fitted front end FC.
I've now have fitted a Disk brake front end and was under the belief that I need to fit a VH40 booster.

Recently, I was told that it is possible (and legal) to run the car with the VH44.

Can anyone throw some light on this.

The existing booster will do the job if you're using soft pads as the legality is determined by brake pedal effort. The larger booster reduces the amount of effort required.  
You will also need to run matching rear wheel cylinders to prevent lock up.

G'Day the VH44 is legal in QLD, I had my FC passed and the mod plate fitted with a VH44. Pedal was hard but still OK (one toe braking still possible)
Just fitted VH 40 and it does remove a lot of effort from the leg muscles, feels better than the VX commodore we also have  

PS. I fitted full HR brake system front rear and brake lines front and rear.
