 Smiley Evening everyone,
I have been stripping the wifes fe sedan, it still has the original paint, and was wondering if anyone knows what the white undercoat was called. It is under the red oxide primer, and to get this stuff off would have to be the hardest job i have ever done. I can get the paint off and the red oxide, but this white paint on the metal, is not going anywhere. Does anyone know what it was called?.

that sounds like the high lead content gear they used to use be very careful of dust better use stripper and start scraping,
the lead content will cause the sand paper to clog up very quickly

I assume this is on a NSW car Huh?

This stuff is not on Vic cars, but the NSW plant had a dipping tank which dipped the bottom half of the car in some stuff.   I've been told it is hard to get off.

Sorry can't help you with the real answer to your problem.
