Yep only fitted to specials - available as an option on all other models.  The ashtray without cigarette lighter has a metal plug in it which is pushed out when the lighter is fitted. Ash trays with the metal plug are getting a little hard to find now.

I can understand why ashtrays with metal rings are becoming hard to find. I can't imagine many ashtrays in any model were without a lighter given the percentage of smokers at the time.
Now you get a plastic cover marked 'power' instead of 'lighter'.

Like how did you charge your i pad or i phone or tablet or gps back then without a lighter outlet ? Grin

It was even more frustrating busting for a smoke with no lighter.

Naah, frustrating is when the lighter gets a little bit loose over time, the kids play with it and it jumps out, red hot, and rolls onto the floor Shocked.

Cheers,
