As currently being discussed in the Rants area, rules vary enormously from state to state, and in some the answer would be yes, and in some it would be no.

Where the bloody hell are you, as Ms. Bingle might say? Grin

cheers

May be we need to add this to the rants and ravesLots of controvercy.  It begs the question why is there no clear standards, why is there a forum like this and no consistancy between clubs.  Yes plenty of contravercy to start this all up but at least it would make it easy to go forward ?

I'm in the ACT.  Come Dec 07 I will be back in Perth.  If each has diffrent standards what hope do I have.  I might as well keep my car on full rego and be done with it assuming I can afford the additional rego.

Asus, it's not the clubs who make the rules, it's the rego authorities in each state. Unfortunately each state has different guidelines.
Come along to our next club meeting, we'll be discussing club rego again.

Rego
Road Rules
Drivers Licences

The list may well go on for ages.
We are one country with rules and regulation that vary at each and every state and territory border.

Club / historic rego in QLD is great and supports the Auto enthusiast, Stock, Mild to Wild modified allowed.

WA's is a little more anal retentive and only allows stock. Clubs here are trying to get some modification (period & safety) accepted. I have jack Meyer headers and at this stage am not eligible for historic rego.

One rule that all states have is that you must be a financial member of a car club.

Cheers Jim
