Would anyone have a electric distributor suitable for a grey motor?  Or know where I would be able to purchase one new in the Melbourne area?

Cheers

Hey flamin J
We purchased the set up in MissB from:

Performance Ignition Services
Unit 47,41-49 Norcal Rd
Nunawading, VIC 3131
Tel: (03) 9872-3644

http://www.performanceignition.com.au/Home/home/Home

We picked up 1 of their Scorcher Distributors and matching coil. We also went with new leads.

This set up isn't cheap though.....you get what you pay for.

Regards
Alex

The crane cams "Fireball" electronic dissy set-up can be fitted to a grey.  This is a kit (around the $170 mark at Rares, no club discount available) that basically has an optical sensor and a separate 'brain-box'.  Everyone I know who has fitted one to a grey or a red has been happy with it.

The only thing about fitting it to a grey dissy is you have to cut out the post that the points are normally located on, as it fouls the slotted disc that the sensor uses.  So of course you can't just drop a set of points back in.  Not that you'd want to, ordinarily, but it's just something to bear in mind.

Having said all that, it occurs to me that you might be able to cut the post down just far enough that it doesn't foul on the disc, and have the best of both worlds...

cheers
