I picked up an English publication from 1957 detailing technical analysis of an FE standard sedan.  It was undertaken in England and the car was ultimately dismantled as part of the testing.  There are some nice photos and diagrams.  Here are some samples.

And here is the front page of the booklet with some relevant details.

I wonder whatever became of the car, tested and dismantled so far from 'home'.

Cheers,
David

Good stuff David.

This is the famous MIRA, which I understand did most UK vehicle durablity, etc, testing.

Do you have any idea who commissioned this? Could it have been GM/GMH?

Cheers

Hey David.
That looks like one cool score you have there.
I have not seen or heard of that publication before.
Can you post a pic of the cover so I/we can keep our eyes open for it.
Congrats.
Regards

Alex,
Here's the cover - very plain and 'scientific'.  Its pale green in colour.

I found it on ebay last year, poorly described to hit the biggest potential number of searches - pure luck on my part.  It was listed at the same time as a bunch of other publications of the same nature about other makes of cars.  Some one had picked up a library being cleaned I suspect and I was happy to grab this one.

Enjoy,
David

John,
There is no info on who commissioned the testing.  The intro says:
"The vehicle was shipped from Australia without any special selection."
That is the only background info included.

Cheers,
David
