cheers ed, i too put the rubber over the bottom hinge, this is what i saw in the page from the workshop manual which effie c sent me ( cheers john). oh well door closes and dosent leak :-/

instead of kids i used the handle from a wooden spoon to push the rubbers in when i needed, this was handy as the other end i sanded down to a finer blunt point. handy for smaller areas.
not as noisy as kids and they dont get tired Grin Grin

cool, seems i didnt carve out the seal for nothing then!

wooden spoon, good idea.

Another useful tool is a butter knife.  also handy to push the edge of the seal into the channel.  sharp enough to get acess yet blunt enough not to remove paint if careful.
