just asking, are the parker lights meant to go out when you pull the light switch all the way out for the head lights, Tongue
so when the head lights are on you don't get parker lights on,is this right?Huh??

On an FC this is correct, headlights on, parkers should be off.

Cheers,

Same goes for FE too.  Different location for parking lights, but same basic wiring.

cheers

Double check your earth, there's an article in the latest SM about wiring. There's also a quote that most electrical probs are from poor earths.

Hey Just 40,

I'm assuming that you're talking about the dash illumination - you didn't mentioned the lighting for the speedo, so this probably works OK.  If this is the case then I'd say the problem is poor contact between the globe holder and the mounting hole in the back of the dash board.  Remove the globe holders form the back of the dashboard and clean all the contact surfaces before replacing them.

The earth trail that Stinky refers to is also important.

(I assume you know that rotating the headlight switch when it is in the "on" position varies the intensity of the dash illumination.  I don't mean to state the obvious, but if you don't know, then it's not obvious!!)

Good luck

light for the speedo are bright as,so are the light for the fuel and temp, oil, gen       but their seems to be only the smallest amount of light getting through ,in other words the bulbs on but when looking at it from dash side you cant tell it,s on.
even when you cup your hands around it you tell their on.

Try another globe, sounds like it is the wrong size.
