Hi there everyone, Most of youw ould know of the existence of the Perpetual trophy given out at each FE-FC Nats. It has been variously known as - the sports trophy, the interstate trophy, and the inter club trophy. I have 2 questions. Firstly, who won this trophy at the QLD Nats? Secondly, (and most importantly) where is the trophy now? We need to locate it so it can be awarded to the champion club at the Jindabyne Nats. All you sherlocks put your thinking caps on & see what you come up with. Cheers, Graham. :-/

HI,
Was just reading this thread and it reminded me of another perpetual trophy of sorts..
Every 2 years there is a motorcycle rally called "the OffCentre Rally"
It is now in its 21st year of existence, the last one being the 10th OCR held in Innamincka.
Each event alternates west and east of Central Australia, with the venue being at least 200 kms of dirt road, has fuel and beer.
You get the picture.. it's like the Nats.
anyway the trophy is a PUDDING.
Legend has it a couple of the original guys had carried a pudding to the rally which remained uneaten and subsequently this pudding has made it to all the remaining rallies.
The pudding is now encased in resin to preserve its integrity and goes to the OCR every 2nd year much like the FE-FC trophy in question.
Cheers
Ed

I remember that our club was disqualified for cheating during the tug-o-war coz we tied our end of the rope around a telegraph pole... I'm pretty sure that we lost to the Mexicans, so they might have the FE-FC Nats Pudding? C'mon Vic's... where's the Pudd??

My recollection is that you won it at Sydney, but forgot to bring it with you to the Gold Coast, so you guys still have it, even though the Vics should. Has anyone looked in the cabinet at the Royals? cheers RET

Us so Called Mexicans whilst being the almighty sports trophy champions do not have the shield and as Richard has confirmed it lives at our national capital SOMEWHERE? ? See you at Jindabyne

I can confirm that I accepted (on behalf of the mexicans) a trophy roughly described as a piston on a piece of wood from the alaskans up north as they did not have the "official" trophy with all the shields posting previous winners. Therefore since the nations capitol club won the trophy before us, then it is still somewhere in the New S of W, most likely within the confines of a small territory within that state.
For the record; 1988 NSW 1989 NSW 1991 VIC 1993 NSW 1995 VIC 1997 VIC 1999 VIC 2001 ACT 2003 VIC
Not bad for Mexicans !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surferboy, Unless this is a recent photo of you I would start visiting Macca's or KFC a bit more often!!! With only two of you coming over W.A aren't what I would call firm favourites for the Tug-of-War Cheers, Craig.
