PBR VH40 should be the one to which you refer. Any ZA/ZB Fairlane or disc brake XR/XT Falcon will provide you with one, including a neat bracket.

Hi Guys.

Austin 1800 also used the VH40, as did HR disc from April 1967 onwards.

We have reco units available for $200 C/O & $300 without.  This is not the cheapest price you will find, but they are very well recoed with stainless steel sleeved body and plated booster tank.

VH40 is just a larger version of the VH44. Check out the pictures at the bottom of this post:http://www.fefcholden.org.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=pwntd;action=display;num=1085059982;start=9

The VH40 is strictly a remote mount booster designed for disc brake applications. They use a different bracket to the VH44 which is more suitable for drum brakes only. (My FC currently has a VH44 with drums but going to discs and VH40 shortly) .

The reason I mentioned the 67-68 Falcon/Fairlane is that they have a really neat bracket and are readily obtainable. I am not familiar with the Austin but have seen (and owned) HR's with several different styles of boosters. There are probably a number of other cars that may have used them as well but it should mount in the same place your VH44 does now as they are not that much larger. You may be able to use the same brake lines too. I can photograph them next to each other and post if needed.

Hydroboost in Victoria are the cheapest by far.

It is $145 with change over or $195 without.

I ordered one and can't tell you how happy I was with the service.

He has brackets to suit any type of mounting at only $15 each (galvanised) or about $30 in chrome (from memory)

I got the booster (fully reco - all galvanised looking brand new and including a 12 month warranty) and the bracket delivered to my door for $225 total including post.

This was about 6 months ago.

He doesnt even require the money first... I just sent off a bank cheque when the goods arrived safe and sound.

Leon,

I have a second hand VH40 with mounting brackets that you are welcome to.

More than $20, less than $300!

Give me a call. Also whether you want the subframe we discussed.

Talk nice to your nearest Brake parts store......Perth Brake Parts in Perth ( of course ), willingly exchanged my grotty old VH44 for a recond bigger VH40 booster for the same price.

Saved me from sourcing an old VH40 jsut to exchange anyway.

Cheers
