You sound exactly like me 16 years ago Darcy ,Good to hear your going the hard yards mate ,Its all a learning curve that comes in very handy for spinning up a bit of cash later on, That is if you dont make it into everyday grind and lose interest in it all.

Dunno where you can get a fuel cell apart from advertisers in magazines and parts peddler.

By the way ,a mate has just finished an EH flat floor too ,full cage ,tubs ,moved chassis rails, and all that .

Welcome, Darcy.  It's great to see young fellas taking an interest in the old cars - even if you do want to chop it around.   Cheesy

I've just seen your second post on the "Dead Grey" thread.  Good onya for getting involved.  

Have you got a digital camera?  It would be great to see what you're doing with your EK, as well as a look at Dad's FC.

Stick with it, Darcy.  I'm impressed.

Sounds like you're having a ball Darcy!

If only my mum had let me take an angle grinder to a car when I was 14 I might know a few things more than I do...

My guess would be that the only real cheap way to find a fuel cell would be if you were lucky enough to find one on a wrecked car - and hope that it might fit.

Try the trading post and ring a few people listing "unwanted or unfinished projects"

Generally they are keen as mustard to make a few bob on what they have spent thousands on.  After all, a fuel cell isn't worth much to anyone except someone who needs it so chances are you can offer a pittance.

Wreckers will generally see you coming a mile away.

The answer would have to be "depends".

What front end has it got, what steering setup?  How low is it?  Etc etc.  Stock vehicles are all the same in this regard, but once you start talking about modifieds, well, every one is different.  But I guess if you put the same setup in your EK as your dad has in his FC, you can expect a similar outcome.  Plenty of opinions and discussion of pros/cons of front-rack, rear-rack, HR, HQ, CRS equipment, V6C equipment to be found on this board.
