can it unbolt

on 1 of our wrecks im sure it wouldnt unblot, would it?

Yes they do unbolt.

You would be well advised to get your hands on a work-shop manual, which explains the process.

Note that FE/FC and FB/EK are not interchangeable.

TorqueFC,

Where are you located? You seem to have lots of questions that we can help you with, but it also sounds to me like you need to join one of the FE FC Clubs around Australia and get to know a bit more about the cars before venturing off on a major exercise like putting a V8 in an early model Holden. Come to a meeting and talk to one of the guys who has done it all before. Experience is invaluable to guys in your situation - before you start.
