This car was listed on Ebay about 2-3 months ago.  I can't recall what the price was then, but clearly it didn't sell.

I have my doubts about the owner's story on the 215 being an early Business Sedan (which is a nice way of saying I think he has erroneous end of stick).

The 217 series was introduced in 1953, near the end of the 48 model.  (Trivia: it was called the 48-215-217 at first, but got shortened when the FJ arrived.)  Anyway, all GM-H publications I've ever seen show the FE Standard, Business and Special Sedans were released together in July 1956, with the other variants appearing in early 1957.  So I believe this is a bog-standard "Standard".

FWIW neither the Standard nor the Business Sedan had indicators, radio or lighter.  The most obvious distinguishing features of an FE-217 over an FE-215 are the factory fitted taxi-bar and door-pulls, and the dome light switch on the driver's pillar.

The other additional features of the Business Sedan are:
Heavy Duty Battery, Reinforced Cushions and Seat Backs, with foam padding in rear seat cushion, Rubber Mats on front and back floor, Plastic Kick Plates around bottom of front seat and corners of the rear seat risers, Heavy Duty Rear Springs.

And all that for less than 32 pounds over the Standard's list price!

cheers

This car's last listing was at $16,000.  The price has come down by $2,000.
