Installing Electronic Ignition

I have overhauled a distributor and fitted a Pertronix 1864A module.  The problem I seem to have is the amount of travel I can get from the vacuum advance unit. It is limited by the size of the notch that is cut out of the mounting plate of the module.  The amount of travel is about 3/32" on the circumference of the rotating plate.  On a dizzy with standard points the travel is around 3/16". Yes the arm length coming from the vacuum module is as per the specs.  What is the normal amount of movement that should be there?  Has anybody had to file the module mounting plate notch to obtain more travel?

Thanks Stewey.  I had read all the articles and nobody seems to have had the problem I have.  Looking further into it and doing some careful measurements I find that the movement I get on the contact plate is 2mm until the plate that holds the igniter hits the stop.  This equates to approx 4.4 degrees rotation.  On a standard distributor the movement I get until the vacuum unit reaches the limit of travel is approx 5mm.  This equates to approx 11 degrees of rotation.

Looking at the picture on the how to install article there appears to approx 6mm from the stop to the end of the cutout on the mounting plate.  Can somebody who has installed one of these units please measure the total size of the cutout of the plate and the distance of the stop and the end of the cutout that would travel to the stop.  it appears that the travel from the vacuum unit is limited by the cut out being too small on my igniter mounting plate.
