Hi Guys
Just fitted the Air Chief radio to the FC today, but do not have a speaker. Will a 6x9 fit in the grill.

Cheers

I have mounted two four inch speakers as they will fit as well.

Cheers

I will take you up on that speaker Mark. And Craig I like your your system, does it give you more of a stereo sound. ( late model radio I guess )

To be honest it screams at you in the face. I can't stand speakers that are cut into the kick panel or the door cards. I got around this by wiring it as the Left Front and changed the balance to the rear.

I hate speaker on the parcel shelf of old cars too. Hidden definitely the way to go. I got around this one by mounting speakers in a box underneath the bench seat.

Streetneat put his in the parcel shelf but had perforated holes in the vinyl on top so you couldn't see that they were there, just hear them

Andy,

Get in touch with HK-T-G Parts Recovery in South Australia (http://www.monarorestorationparts.com.au).  Simon has some reconed original equipment 6x9 15-ohm speakers for sale, at about $200.  Not cheap I know, but these are the recommended impedance for an Air-Chief radio.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for that info, I was wandering how a newer speaker would mate up.
And by the way on Evil bay at the moment under (Air Chief) are NOS diamonds for the facias if anyone is after one, 4 left.
