Radio Aerial

I would like to fit a radio to the recently finished FC. It has never had a radio fitted hence there is no aerial. I am reluctant to put a hole in the body to fit one. Has anybody used an alternative aerial? Is there an aerial available that will stick inside the windscreen, if so how well do they perform and do they pick up ignition interference. I have not decided which radio I would fit yet as I have a few period radios I can restore including an original Astor. All the radios are AM only. I had thought about using a gutter grip aerial but none of them in my collection.

on the way back from chopped rod and custom show last year in my mates val we (he)wanted to listen to the nrl grandfinal but had no aerial.
he was gonna buy a normal one and stick it somewhere for the drive home.
i had heard of underdash ones cause i didnt wanna drill a hole after fillin mine up.
we found one at super cheap for 30 bucks, wired it up while he was in maccas...
.just needs a power wire aswell as your coaxial input,
he rang me a month later tellin me how bloody good the aerial is .....
.i gotta get one myself when i actually put in a radio

Hi Keith
I originally used an aerial that was like sticky tape with a fine wire running through it I stuck it around the edge of the windscreen and it worked very well only trouble is that as they get older the tape gets affected by the sun but to start with they are great because you can hardly see them. I think I gotit from Repco or Rares can't remember lost to many brain cells since then.
Cheers
