This was my first nationals and I had no idea what to expect, I admire the way that the way the South Australians put it all together and run it all like clockwork well done.
We had a few things happen to slow us down but when everything settled down and away we went.

Sunday 16 march
Load car onto Indian Pacific and now we are finally on our way.
Tuesday 18 march
Arrive in Adelaide ops broken side window clothes  Cd's and doona missing, perspex rear L/H quarter window fitted near the Woodville plant ( no spares in stock)
Fit sunvisor ( didn't trust it on the train)
Wednesday 17 march
Meet other WA contingent at Tailem bend, and go across Murray river on a barge ( the nice driver backed it into the middle of the river for photos)
What was that bang, there goes the sunvisor. The visor went to the Nat's in the back of Gary's Ute, the rest of the trip under the front seat

Tuesday 25 Depart mount Gambier.travel the Great ocean rd stopping at Port fairy ( Belfast & Dublin) and all of the tourist spots  Staying overnight at Apollo bay. Now I understand why they said to be careful on that road, Tight curves, big hills, rain, 70 HP and drum brakes sums it up.

Wednesday 26 heading for Horsham through down town Victoria in the rain.

Thursday 27 heading for Military rd Adelaide beach, end up at Military rd out back Adelaide hills.

Friday 28 meet Brad and Gemma at Birdwood get to see GTR-X and EFIJY

Saturday 29 Photos at Elizabeth meet brad and Gemma at Gawler and start the journey home, visit Quorn stay at Port Augusta.

Sunday 30 stay at streaky bay tail wind to Border

Monday 31 night Ceduna

Tuesday 1 April night at Norseman

Wednesday 2 April Kalgoorlie spend the night with friends

Thursday 3 April arrive home at 1800hrs just in time for the news.

Friday unpack the car and put it back in the shed.

Stats
Approx 2800 km Perth to Adelade by train.
From the time we left home the car has traveled 3668 miles under its own power.
Best fuel economy 494 km on 43 Litres. Tail wind
Visited 3 states and saw some fantastic sights.

Thanks to the South Australians for putting it all on.
Thanks to our travelling companions
And all the others for making us feel welcome
