G'day.....

Just having a little problem with my air compressor..... Yesterday I tried to blow up some tyres and could barely muster enough pressure. Usually it would run until there was enough pressure and then switch off until the pressure drops, then run again etc, but it doesn't seen to be building up enough pressure to do anything....

Is there anything I should be looking at, or alternatively, anywhere I could take it to get it looked at (nothing is coming up in the yellow pages)?

Cheers

Les,

A couple of basic checks that you might have already done.

Is the drain cock closed?
Is the air tap open?

Cheers

Les, check the air filter on the compressor inlet.
Can you tell if the motor is running at its nornal speed? Belt or direct driven?

MY compressor blew the head gasket once which would'nt let it build up enough air to turn the pressure swich off, could be worth a look, very easy to fix
The pressure switch could be playing up too

Thanks guys!!

Brett and Col, as far as I could work out everything was running normal (as normal as when I've used it before anyway).... I only noticed something was up because I had turned it on to "warm up" while I was doing something else, and it never stopped and never built up any pressure......

As for belt or direct driven, I'm not sure Roll Eyes
it looks similar to this if that helps!

Thanks Charlie, I'll have a look!

Cheers

Les, my comp is similar to yours but larger. I would say warm up deactivates the valves somehow while it warms everything up, so the comp doesn't start on load cold.
It is direct drive, no V-belt.
