ONE OF MY MATES IS CHANGING HIS 3 SPEED ALL SYNCHRO TO AN AUSSIE 4 SPEED. WE KNOW WE HAVE TO REVERSE THE CLUTCH PLATE. ARE THE BELLHOUSINGS THE SAME AND ARE THERE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS WE MIGHT COME ACROSS. REGARDS BAZZA

Bazza, i assume we are talking about the all australian 3 speed. if so the clutch and pressure plate stays as it is. It is the same as the all aussie 4 speed as is the bell housing and the outside of the gearbox housing. The extension housing is larger as it houses the reverse gears. The tailshaft also stays the same. You will need to cut a hole in the floor directly above the end of the extension housing for the shifter. The speedo cable stays the same but the inner gear may need to be replaced depending on your ratios. regards Brett

They're not projects, they're obsessions.

I've done this conversion years ago in my EH. Worked but new tailshaft and speedo cable were required along with the mount.
Remember you are supposed to reinforce around the hole in the floor.

Still have it all to get rid of soon if anyone is interested send a PM.

inchyeh,
That would be right if your gearbox was a non synchro type which is used on eh holdens. The info i gave bazza relates to all aussie synchro three speeds and four speeds. regards Brett
