Someone (presumably the enterprising owner) emailed the NSW Club with the link to this car for sale on Ebay. Someone was looking for a "vanette" recently, IIRC. cheers RET

Could this "Panelwagon" be a genuine holden vehicle or is it just a panel van with station sedan windows installed in it.
Cheers

Rob, just a panel van with extra windows. Fairly common conversion for the day.

It looks like it has a back seat as well from the rear-view photo. A bit hard to tell, but the backrest section does look quite thin, and could be the fold-down type that was fitted to these coach-built conversions.
They were known as a "Station Waggon" by some dealers in Sydney, who sold them off the floor with this conversion done. So not factory-original by GM-H, but certainly authentic as far as the purchaser was concerned!

I went to look at this car yesterday afternoon. It is the FC 'Van that I used to own in the early-mid 1980's. Some people might remember it from the Auburn Whatever Club meeting days, it was a buff colour then.
The dickey seat is a Canopy Industries Seat which was fitted from way back when along with the windows. The car originally came from Yenda, NSW and was first registered in December 1959, original number plate BYK-127. I'll look for a registration paper & get the date.
For Ken, the body id tag is missing but the subframe number is there: FC 55008S. It has an EJ motor: J91398. The car was originally grey. When I had it, it had Special door trims & front seat, red & black. The dickey seat appears to have the same red trim as when I owned it but has been repadded.

Brett, Same question! What sort of condition is it in? It has a bit of rust in the front of the bonnet, and I suspect quite a bit more by the look of it.

Michael & Rob,
Private messages until sometime after 14-Feb-07 12:08:17 AEDST.
To everyone else: the actual registration date was/is 16/11/1959, not December as I thought.
Cheers
Brett
