I pulled the tank out today and am in the process of cleaning it up (and out).
Is there anything internal that I have to worry about?
I am a little worried about the fuel pickup and where that is situated, plus there have been a couple of pad type "things" that have fallen out of the tank. About an inch in diameter, they look like they may have been some sort of filter, I hope my hunch is correct and it is just crap that gathered around the drain plug recess and fell out in one piece.
Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Stinky

I think someone has been using the fuel tank as a "Piggy Bank" there should be nothing loose inside.

The pick up is just a plain pipe soldered to the bottom of the tank - I done some home repairs on one recently.

A baffle plate sits in front of the pickup and then the fuel sender which is a closed unit - the float is made of cork.
