The bidding on this one is all marked as private.  Is that dodgey, or just the way the ute has been listed?

There is now a second FE ute on ebay, said to be for parts only.  Its listed to start at $50 with no bids so far.  I still haven't mastered putting up the link I'm afraid, but again, search under FE holden and you'll find it.  If someone wants to PM me the technique for putting up a link, feel free - neanderthal at work here I'm afraid.

Cheers,
David

It might be worth bidding on this one.

It has a 138 Litre Engine in it.   Grin Grin Grin

Nothing wrong with a private auction.
It's only the bidders details that are private, the seller's rating is in plain sight.

Hi Guys.
I think what Nick is uncomfortable with & I get the same vibe, is why do that? It makes it VERY easy to get some of your mates to "Schill" bid. That means, get someone you know (Or use another "Username" you have) to push the bids up. It happened on this site with a FE FC Forum user doing it. I caught the scammer. He stopped, but I still see it all the time. I gotta be honest, I am REAL careful when buying off ebay, I try & use well known users, that I have dealt with before. I also have a very good look at the user & their history before I bid. I also see if they may have had bids, that seem to be pushing the auction up bit by bit.
"Private Bidders" make it impossible to see who you are bidding against & if it may be a schill bidder.

Hi Stinky.
Interesting read. Scammer alright. Wonder if Dad was REALLY in the dark?
I have had the same done to me & have been contacted for the second chance offer. I just replied, that I would pay up to the top bid, BEFORE the winning bidders first bid.
Didn't hear back!!

Well what do you know. I have some auctions on the go & lo & behold, there is a "Private" bidder. I can't access the comments on their feedback, but I can see that they have had 2 negatives, 3 bid retractions & 1 Neutral in the last 6 months. May have to contact them to see whats up.

Not easy to tell, I just sold a set of wheels where some newbie pushed the price up 8 times bit by bit. The original bidder was still winning the auction, but now he was going to have to pay almost $70 more, which he was obviously willing to pay.... but, then the newbie retracts all but one of his bids!

Made me look I had someone 'schill bid' on my behalf. I promptly cancelled his remaining bid so I could leave an explaination to the effect that I had no knowledge of this idiot.

Happy ending... the auction finished at twice the price anyhow! Smiley
