O.K.,
Before I leave I do have a serious question. My old mate Kiwi is sending me a VH44 power booster. I have read on some threads about the diaphrams wearing out n such.
R the diaphrams still available??
What do I do if the Kiwi sends me a booster with dodgy diaphragm?

Hi Matt
You should look at getting the booster reconditioned before putting it on your car.I just had a VH 24 done and I couldnt believe the crap that came out of it when I pulled it apart and It should come back looking like brand new.
I can get you the details of a bloke in Vic who recos all those old boosters.

if you have old boosters lying around they deteriate very fast, if your not going to use it take it apart and if rubber diaphram is in ok condition give it a clean in warm soapy water and dry, then put it in a plastic bag and sprinkle liberal amount of talcum powder on it and in bag and put in cool dark place lying flat where it will keep for many years, dont know why talcum powder works but it does and when you used to buy them they had talcum on them so why not use the old tried and true method.another tip is with all rubbers in master cylinder are very expensive in kit form so have a hunt around in hydraulic fitting shops as you will often find same size rubbers for a fraction of the price of dealer.
