Hi Team,

I have finally made a decision on the cerbies for the ute project. I am going to run with the triple SUs. It won't make any difference to me initially as she will be registered as a daily driver initially. I am also thinking a little bit past the mechanical side of the house and into the presentation of the old girl under the bonnet.

My plan at this stage is to repaint the engine bay back to its original black (late 59 Model). I have sourced an alloy rocker cover and will be also running an AC oil filter.

To introduce a bit of character I'm thinking of converting a set of old hub caps I have into air cleaner covers for the tiples with the GMH lion and red background as contrast against the black background to match the engine bay and the outer rims providing the shiny bits.

I don't see any issue with cutting the middle sctions of the hub caps out, pretty easy job to the polish and paint it up.

Has anyone done a "hub cap" air cleaner for SUs? If so what did you use as the base aircleaner and how did you go about attach the hub cap centre?

Just had a thought on the SUs. Will there be enough room for air cleaners or will I need to use a trumpet and a sock? Air cleaner cover may have fallen over at the first hurdle.

If that is the case I will make them for the twin strommies.
