early holden identification

Hi, I know this is a bit away from fe/fc, but hoping someone may be strong on 48 series body numbers. I have a plate with strange numbers as follows - STYLE NO--48-354, BODY NO-617, trim no - 114 special,  PAINT NO - 1,  TOP        ACC 1.   I realize this is off a FX, but body style 354 I don't know, also paint No 1, is strange. Can anyone help??  Thanks Glenn

Hi Glenn,
from holdens black book I can tell you that paint colour 1 is BLACK
and ACC is the month of manufacture ,   1  would be January
The STYLE No should be 48- 215 or 217
The trim number does not match up with any in the book
BODY No could be the 617th 48-215 built in Adelaide.

thanks, Yeah I thought model would be 215 or 225, but definitely very plainly stamped 48 - 354, also the trim # being 114SPECIAL is a bit strange. Glenn

Sounds very interesting. Do you just have the ID tag or is this a complete car? If you have the car, a chassis number & engine number might also help.....

How about a pic of the ID tag?

Just the ID tag. Picked it up at a swap meet because of its interesting numbers.

It could be from another vehicle that went down the GMH production line in 1948, possibly Vauxhall? or yank tank?
