Windscreen chrome

I am in the process of having my windscreen resealed and the Windscreen fitter is having trouble getting the chrome to stay in the rubber when he is trying to get the windscreen back in, any body got any ideas?

I had the same drama first time i did one, use some packing tape around the edge to hold rubber to the glass Simples.

Les, by the sound of it, I would say he may not have cleaned all the old dirt from the moulds. He should also make sure the moulds are pressed fully into position(ie, the leg on the mould is fully into the slot in the rubber). This is what I do for a living and they are the main problem areas that come up.

Check that chrome is not warped or bent, once it is out of shape it is very difficult to get it straight again. Brand new rubbers straight out of the packet are troublesome as well because they want to roll back up again. Best idea is to unwrap the seal a few weeks before you install to allow it to unravell

The Chrome Moulds are straight and clean, it is mainly the bottom moulding that is not fitting, I am thinking that it might be the leg not fully in the rubber.
I will have another try on the weekend.
