I have had to leave behind my FE and FC....

Some of you know already but I have had to move back to Oz to get work as Ireland is in a pretty deep economic hole and despite me digging like a trojan the last 3 years, I just couldn't get anywhere.

So, I have left my wife and children to struggle on at home whilst I came to Perth to get work. Given my profession, a surveyor, it seemed the right place to get well paid work, and even if I have work in the remote mining sites work is work! Had a few interviews already and a couple to go and I should be working by next week so that's good.

Saw an FC wagon filling up at a servo on the way in from Perth airport last Monday late afternoon - a forum member?

After all this, I just hope to have a shift rotation so that I can see a certain wedding next easter.... Roll Eyes

Paul,

I'm very sorry to hear this. I've read how grim it is, still at least with an Oz passport you have options and it doesnt rain as much Grin

All the best
John

By all means carry a picture and I'm sure someone will have a spare seat. It would be great to have you there and meet you in person as you are one of the "family" on the forum.

Good luck Paul

I wish you the best of luck with everything. We've had to leave our three FCs in Canberra whilst we tour around Australia in a motorhome with two kids under three. However, that's nothing compared to having to leave your family behind halfway across the world! We were also able to leave our FCs with good homes (fellow club members). We'll be in Perth for the Nats, so hope to catch up with you there. It was great that you were able to meet our close friends Colin & Jacky whilst they were in Ireland recently.

Cheers, Tim.
