There's an article in today's Sydney Morning Herald about the MCM, with references and photos of the first Australian touring car race, at Gnoo Blas.

And what an AWESOME weekend it was. Caught up with some forum friends and had some GREAT racing. Pity about my broken axle at the start of the 2nd race on Saturday.

Colin.

Too bad about the axle Col.

It was such a busy weekend I can't believe its over - went like a flash.

Good that you got back on the track on Sunday and looks like you went OK.

I've got lots of picutres and some video of Des West in his 48-215 race car. Had a good chat to him on the dummy grid.

What a top guy and happy to talk about the car.

Hi Craig,
Did you get any footage of the car running round the track?
Cheers,
Graham

No, sorry Graham.

Des missed the session because his car wouldn't start. Sounded and looked flooded to me and they frigged around with it for ages.

Once they got it going the circuit entry was closed and he unfortunately didn't get a run. There was another session due later in the afternoon but I was packing up by then.

I was out on the dummy grid for other reasons and would have loved to help but there were enough heads under the bonnet already.

Des looked really sharp in his period white racing overalls.
