I have just had my old head rebuilt with new valves and the bloke who did it has used the old valve springs. I have been previously told not to use them as they had some surface rust and that they would fail due to the rust. they had not pitted. Any one got any advise re this. Unfortunately the price is still about what he quoted, despite no new valve springs. Grrrr...
He's also put in what he's calling coated valves, as that's what they use now for gas. I got the impression from the way he told me that it was not what I might expect, as we'd discussed stainless, these are coated stainless???
