Here are a couple of photo's that my brother took for me the other day. i can't remember who was asking about fitting a V6 latelty but the engine fits easily with the raised tunnel. The Hadfield kit needed to be modified to bolt the gearbox on, but apparently this is normal with these kits supplied.

This one show the commodore instrument cluster with the gear selector and handbrake also from the Vt Commodore.

G'day Miikael,

I decided to use the sump from the Vt and cut and weld it to suit via a few hours, (about 16) and have just about finished. This also allows me to keep a couple of original brackets and the dipstick in the same place.

Regards
Jason.
1724  For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / Ecotech sump on: October 17, 2002, 09:31:57 AM
Hi Guys,

I have a replacement sump made by Hadfield Rod Shop to go onto the V6 ecotech engine with the HR Front end.
Cost me $550, and am looking to get $350 for it.
It has not been used on the car, but only tried for a dummy fit.

I've got a Vt console in mine, but have had to do a lot of creative artwork with the floor tunnel out of the donor car to have the handbrake and the gear selector fit in the right place. This has also allowed me to put the Vt bucket seats in the car.
Hopefully I will have some pics soon, as at the moment I have lost access to a digital camera.

Cheers

How many Panel Van's without the rear window have you seen? I haven't come across any... Maybe Guru Ken has seen some.

With regards to the ad's I'll take one of each with all the extra's... Is credit card okay by you? Grin Grin

Hey Ed,

I have got a filler cap for a VT and if you had posted this last week i could have got for you the whole assembly, but now I have the filler door, cable and the mechanism if you want them.
I cut up and threw the shell away last week.

1733  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Buick V6 conversion on: September 13, 2002, 03:01:12 AM
G'day Brad,

I have been warned about the Buick V6 about some of the parts for it not being readily available compared to the commodore V6... I could not tell you the difference as I have the commodore V6... Originally I thought that they were the exact same motor. Maybe the advice i received was flawed but it may just take a few questions to confirm or deny it.

Miikeal,

Have you also fitted your pedal assembly and steering column?

Neil,

I will have trial fitted my V6 in about two weeks with the T700 gearbox and should have an answer for you then.

Hey Ed,

You have opened yourself up here!
It's pretty sad that you have admitted to watching David's show but to be able to quote word for word... More time needed on the FE me thinks if that is all that is on the BOX.  Grin Grin Grin

1738  Technical Board / General Technical / Brake booster on: August 18, 2002, 11:11:12 AM
Hi Guys,

Have had acouple of enquires lately about fitting a V6 to the FE/FC including boostres etc etc.
After getting a VT wreck last week I finally got at a booster to put into the van, but have pleasantly found that the whole brake assembly, accelerator and the booster fitted perfectly into the car, taking only 6 hours from the initial removal to having completely installed into the FE including welding the unnessecary holes up.
If anyone is think of changing the pedal assembly I would have no hesitation in reccomending the VT assembly after todays effort. The firewall flex that SGO had a problem with his VP assembly was overcome in the VT by adapting a piece from the original FE brake set up.
Hopefully will have some photo's soon if anyone is interested.

Steering column next.

Cheers

Hi Ed,

RET didn't say whether or not that rig was still available for parts, but if you don't have any luck there, try Rick from Radical Early holdens again. He has a wagon that would have the bits you require. Ph 0740555091
Cheers
Jason.

P.S Got my motor today VT Comm wreck 51000k's with all the other goodies I need, now got to get it up here.
