Darren - I wouldn't trust what colours look like on the screen. The best way to be sure is to see a car in the flesh.
I have an FE sedan in Russet Brown over Cuban Beige. My car does not look anything like the colour of Cam's car as it appears on my computer screen. His car looks much whiter than mine does. My car has a stronger pink shade to the beige.
If you want to know what Cuban Beige looks like, I recommend you see it in the flesh. (It will obviously be love at first sight, because who couldn't love a Cuban Beige body?)
You will get an idea of the colour of my car by clicking on the link to Ridgey Didge's FE at the bottom of the screen in my post.
Where are you located? Someone near to you may be able to get you a look at a Cuban beige car.
And Cam - very jealous. What a great car!
Cheers David

And here it is - the 1927 Buick tourer that was given to the tech for apprentices to learn their trade on. My understanding is it was owned by my great-grandfather, then my grandfather and then his brother who donated it upon getting the FC. Cheers David

We had a great weekend away and really enjoyed the new museum.
Thanks on behalf of the ACT club to Derrick from the Vic club and Geoff K from the NSW club for their contributions to the planning and organisation, and especially thanks to everyone for the good company and great conversations. We must do more of these interstate joint events!
Cheers David

I think Crump is right about the first photo, and I have no idea about the second one. The car lived all it's life in Five Dock, Sydney, so it must have been on a trip somewhere.
There seem to be no existing photos of the 2 cars together, which is odd because they were always at family things together. Maybe one will still turn up.

I was recently able to get copies of some old family photos that show the car that often turned up at family events alongside the car that is now mine. My grandfather owned mine and his brother owned this FC. It looks pretty good with its white walls and wheel trims. It would have been in good nick under the bonnet as well, as the mechanic who serviced it was none other than MalFE from this site. Does that bring back memories Mal? Cheers David

Mmmmm, yes please. What delivery time can I expect if I order one just like that?
I'm green with envy. David

Could be Newcastle. A google search brings up an intersection of King and Steel Streets in Newcastle and there is still a building with 3 peaks to the frontage visible down King Street.

Now the needle swings up to 50/60mph then shoots to 120mph with a horrible grinding noise ! when driving in suburban traffic My speedo has been doing this on and off for years. It is worse in cold weather and settles down after 10 minutes or so, but is sometimes quite random in doing it. Until it actually stops working it is tolerable and I don't plan to try to fix it. Good luck getting a speedo that just works normally. Cheers David
